By Plane:
Krabi has an international airport with daily flights connecting Krabi to Bangkok, Koh Samui, Kuala Lumpur and some destinations in Scandinavia. Regional Airlines serving Krabi Airport are: Thai Airways, Bangkok Airways (Koh Samui) and Air Asia. Scandinavian Tour operators have some chartered flights from Finnair, Novair and Tuifly Nordic coming in on a weekly basis.
By Train:
Krabi or Ao Nang are not connected to the Thai Railway system. However, you can take a train from Bangkok or Hat Yai to either Surathani (180 km) or Tungson and use a bus or taxi to get to Krabi or Ao Nang. Please be aware that in both cases it will be a 2 to 3 hours bus trip before you get to Ao Nang.
By Bus:
Thailand has a very good system of bus connections. You can travel by bus to basically any town in Thailand in a comfortable and cheap way. From Krabi Bus Station, busses go to Bangkok, Phuket, Ranong, Hat Yai, Trang and Satun and serve of course any city located between those destinations. If you have to go over long distance by bus in Thailand, you may want to use the VIP Buses, 24 Seater with really nice sleeping chairs, just like business class in an airplane.
By Boat:
During the season, from November till April, there are daily "Express Boats" going from Ao Nang directly to and from: Phi Phi Island, Phuket and Koh Lanta. Please check with the local travel offices for the exact schedule and prices. Other Boats going to Koh Lanta and Koh Phi Phi from Krabi Pier.
