Right in time for the begin of the high season, most businesses in Ao Nang have changed their prices for what ever service they offer. Sometimes, when there is a big competition prices are going down and some others with a "club" like the Longtail Boats and taxies, prices went up. A tranditional Thai Massage on the beach or elsewere in down to 200,- Baht from 250,- and a trip to Railay or Phranang Beach by Longtail Boat is up to 100,- Baht from 60,- Baht.
Anyway, we have put together the most important prices from Ao Nang, Krabi and Airport for you, you will find it on the left in the Service Menu under "Prices In Ao Nang" |

This comming season, tourists will see a lot of new well known shops in Ao Nang: We already reported the Burger King that will open soon at the Beach front but there are others like Starbucks, Black Canyon Coffee, Pizza Company and Swensens Ice Cream who have already moved into some places and desperately looking for staff. A few days ago Ao Nang also got it's first Yamaha Motor Bike Shop so that Thais and Expats from Ao Nang don't need to go to Krabi Town anymore to buy their motor bikes. Prices seem to be the same as in town. Finaly on October 24th, another Super Mall "Makro Markt" will open it's gates in Krabi for Hotels, Restaurants and all other business owners who have to apply for an entrance card. |

It seems that a few years after Mc Donalds, Ao Nang will now also get an Burger King Restaurant. At least when you can trust the workers who just deliver the kitchen equipment. The place might be a little small for a Burger King Restaurant but the location, right in the middle of the beach and beside the Tatoo Shop and M.C. Pharmacy, is perfect. Untill last season it used to be Planet Ao Nang Bar which might be well known by tourists, since it was pretty full every night. The opening is scheduled around 1st of November 2007, the begin of the High Season in Ao Nang. |

The use of helmets for all drivers of motor bikes was introduced in Thailand already some years ago. But in places like Ao Nang or Noparatthara it was common practice not to wear helmets most of the time and only use them when driving into Krabi Town. This will change now. Traffic Police in Ao Nang will start to check drivers for helmets and offenders will be charged between 100 and 300,- Baht. The problem is, that the money must be paid at the main Police Station in Krabi Town and the Traffic Police in Ao Nang will retain motorbike and licence until the money is paid and you can present a proper receipt. Also new, particulary for Thais is the fact, that all motorbikes must use the light now also during the day time. |
