100 Baht Entrace Fee In Chicken Island

Entrance Ticket at Chicken Island

Since yesterday, there is an entrance fee for all visitors on Chicken Island. There have always been rumors that one would have to pay at Poda or Chicken Island but most people went there without paying anything. Since yesterday however, two men with uniform walking around the island and cashing in 100,- Baht "Foreigner Fee" from anybody who gets out of a boat at Chicken Island. The funny thing now is, that they could take that money already when they sell the boat ticket in Ao Nang but obviously they don't want to tell the tourist at this point. Get there first, then you have to pay. From our experience, most tourist probably won't care about the 100,- Baht but a family with four or five members would maybe think about it, going there or not. Since the entrance fee is called a "Foreigner Fee" it is obvious that Thai people don't have to pay that money...
