Welcome to Ao Nang

One Year ago, on December 26th, 2004 the Tsunami disaster killed more than 230,000 people in the affected countries. Only one day later we started our Geman site www.aonang.de with new pictures every day to show tourists and friends of Ao Nang that Ao Nang was lucky and not much affected by the wave and that it was save and clean and necessary for touristes to continue to come here and make their holiday to give the locals their income.
We had some real critics about this and it took a few month to realize that we were right. Unfortunately too late for some small business owners who could`nd pay their yearly rent anymore and gave up. By today, only the newly installed "Tsunami Safety Features" reminds you about the disaster.
For this reason we have collected a few pictures that were taken right after the wave and now, one year after to compare:
